| Parenthood coach | Sherwood has worked in a variety of communication, adult education and entertainment fields for the past twenty years. In 1993 she shifted her focus to new parents, and in 1995 graduated from Mastering the Art of Professional Coaching (MAPC), conducted by the Newfield Group, in the United States. The nature of the MAPC program is learning to help others adapt to major life changes. Now, as a certified ontological coach, she is specializing in helping new parents adjust to the lifestyle and relationship changes they are encountering with greater ease, awareness and confidence. "Since ontological coach sounds a bit too philosophical, and the nature of what I do is actually very practical, I've coined the term "parenthood coach". Everyone is unique, so I see my function as helping new parents customize parenthood to fit their particular needs." Sherwood offers private coaching on-line: see the Online coaching page for more details. Workshop leader |
In her Designing Parenthood workshops, participants explore what being a parent means to them, and discover ways to design parenthood to suit their values and lifestyle. This helps them make their transition into parenthood smoother and more enjoyable.
